Our Projects:
Los Angeles Education Foundation: 2013-Present
The Los Angeles Education Foundation is a program we began at the Santee Education Complex in March 2013 to teach and prepare the students for the AP Calculus AB exam through classes and practice tests. These intensive classes demand both dedication from ourselves as tutors and from the students. Two students from our Spring 2013 program passed the AP exam, which had yet to be done previously in the seven years since Santee's founding. We are incredibly excited about the potential of LAEF, as we plan to expand it into more schools in the LA Unified School District and create curriculum to cover other subjects.
Online Learning Center: 2011
Online Learning Center is the online extension of Camp Savant, that gives students the chance to engage in the camp, outside of the classroom. These online videos follow our teaching manual lesson by lesson through each subject, allowing us to branch out to a larger group of students. This project in currently in progress.
Savant Scholars: 2011-Present
Savant scholars is a program that was developed to guide students down the right path of getting into the college they want to be admitted into. Because many low-income families establish the idea of not being able to go to college into their children's minds, we want to make them realize that getting into college is possible. Therefore, we host seminars to teach the students about colleges, and publish a book to teach them about the college admissions process.
PACT: 2010-Present
PACT stands for planning, attitude, creativity and teamwork-- values that we believe promote leadership, confidence and self-esteem. Simply Savant's PACT is a program that promotes leadership by conducting seminars at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern California. The PACT Manual includes activities to use during seminars, prompts for discussion as well as guidelines.

Camp Savant: 2009- current
Camp Savant was created in 2009 and has been teaching for 3 summers. Camp Savant is a nonprofit summer camp which aspires to educate the students within the Boys & Girls Club of Southern California. It is an expense-free camp provided to members of the Boys and Girls Club of grades 5-9 consisting of English, math, science (biology, chemistry, and physics), taught at two different levels. Students are given a placement exam before camp to ensure that they are placed in the right level. Students receive a more personal learning experience because of the small teacher to student ratio and the smaller age gap between the two. Each year, teachers and directors of Camp Savant spend more than 1,000 hours of their time preparing materials for the participants of Camp Savants. The curriculum is completed high school student created and two teacher manuals have been published. Students are first aid and CPR certified.
Team Savant: 2009- current
Team Savant is a hiking team established by Simply Savant for those who wish to enjoy the great outdoors. Hiking trips occur two to three times a month and anyone may join.
Build a Library: 2009-2011
The Build a Library project was founded in 2009. Simply Savant members contact different nonprofit organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club to see if they are in need of libraries. We fundraise money in order to purchase required materials. We donate bookcases and books to different locations to promote education in order to stimulate interest in reading. Rather than our members solely building the provided bookshelves, we invite members of the nonprofit organizations to help with the buildings. The time that our members share with the members of the organizations when building bookshelves and stacking books allow for bonds to grow. This is one of our efforts to make the literary world available to people who do not have access to it.
